This Privacy Policy explains how avortas.com and its calculator tools โ including the Uniqueness Calculator, Wealth Percentile Calculator, Personality Test, Baby Genetics Predictor, and every other tool on the site โ handle information, and what Google Analytics and our advertising partner, Mediavine, do on our pages.
The answers you enter into our calculators โ eye color, birthday, income, quiz answers, and similar โ are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript, and the results are computed on your device. We do not run a backend that stores these individual inputs in a database, and we do not build a personal profile tied to your identity from them. This describes how our own calculator code behaves; it does not describe the third-party analytics and advertising scripts covered below, which do collect some data as part of how they work. Our calculator code never sends your answers anywhere on its own โ not to us, and not to Mediavine or its advertising partners โ and never puts them in the page address. That includes the numbers you type into the BMI, calorie, ideal-weight, water-intake and sleep calculators, the height, weight, blood type, smoking and drinking answers in the Uniqueness Calculator, and the genetic-condition answers in the Baby Genetics Predictor: Avortas does not collect health information. If you press a Share button, the result text, which on some tools includes the names or birthday you entered, goes to the app or site you share it with.
We use a small number of cookies and similar local storage, grouped into three categories:
In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, Mediavine's consent window asks about advertising and Google Analytics (listed there as "Google Analytics" under "Measurement") the first time you visit; elsewhere Google Analytics is on by default. Either way you can change your mind anytime using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. See our Cookie Policy for the full breakdown of individual cookies.
We use Google's Consent Mode to pass your choice to Google Analytics. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland it stays in a restricted, consent-denied state that sets no measurement cookies until you accept "Google Analytics" in Mediavine's consent window. Elsewhere it starts with analytics cookies on, and turning Analytics off under "Cookie settings" switches them off. Consent for advertising is collected through Mediavine's consent tool, which appears where the law requires it.
Avortas shows ads served by Mediavine, Inc., which keeps every tool on this site free to use. Mediavine and its advertising partners may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and cookie or device identifiers in order to serve and measure ads and, where you allow it, to show ads based on your interests. Mediavine's own notice lists its partners and explains each one's practices and your choices: Mediavine Legal & Privacy Center. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through the Network Advertising Initiative or the Digital Advertising Alliance, or in Europe through Your Online Choices. Turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser also signals that choice. Mediavine's Grow widget may also appear on our pages; the Mediavine Legal & Privacy Center covers it too.
If you've granted analytics consent, we use Google Analytics to see aggregate traffic patterns such as page views, popular tools, and country-level visitor distribution. We don't use analytics to build individually identified profiles of visitors. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on if you'd like to exclude yourself from Analytics across all sites that use it. As part of our advertising agreement, Mediavine has read-only access to our Google Analytics data: mostly aggregated reports, plus activity listed per browser under a random ID, never your name or email.
We also use GoatCounter to count page views. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not follow you between sites or sessions. Because it cannot identify you, it records only aggregate counts โ which page was opened and when, the referring site, a coarse location, and the browser, operating system and screen size. It runs on every page; if you would rather it did not, any content blocker that blocks gc.zgo.at will stop it.
Avortas is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our calculators don't ask for email addresses or other contact details, and what you type into them is never sent to us, but parents and guardians should still supervise children's general internet use, since third-party analytics and advertising scripts run on the page, as they do on most ad-supported websites.
The site is served entirely over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit. Because most of what our own code does happens client-side, our server-side attack surface for personal data is small โ though as noted above, the third-party analytics and advertising scripts on this site do collect their own data independently of our servers, governed by their own security practices.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under regulations such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or the CCPA (California) โ including the right to know what's collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of certain data uses. The cookie preference controls on this site, Mediavine's consent tool, and the opt-out tools linked above are the practical way to exercise those choices for the analytics and advertising cookies described here. If you are in California or another US state with a similar law, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising through Mediavine's consent tool or by turning on Global Privacy Control. Who is responsible. The operator of Avortas decides how this site uses your data and can be reached at mehmet@avortas.com. For the ads, Avortas and Mediavine, Inc. are jointly responsible, and each answers for its own part of the processing.
Legal basis. We set Google Analytics cookies only with your consent, given in Mediavine's consent window, which also asks before advertising cookies are used. If you refuse analytics or have not chosen yet, Google Analytics still receives a signal from each page view without cookies or any lasting ID (the time, the page, the site you came from, your browser type and your consent choice); this relies on our legitimate interest in counting visits. Mediavine's consent window may also list purposes that some advertising partners base on legitimate interest, such as measuring how ads perform; where it does, you can object to them in the same window. A few, such as preventing fraud and delivering the ad itself, cannot be switched off there. GoatCounter's cookieless counting, the storage that remembers your cookie choice, and the two entries that stop the FRAEON card from reappearing (listed in our Cookie Policy) rely on our legitimate interest in running the site. Our web host, GoDaddy, keeps standard server logs, including your IP address, so it can deliver the site and protect it from attacks, and if you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you, and our email provider, Microsoft, stores them for us; both rely on our legitimate interest in running the site safely and replying to you.
Transfers. Google and Mediavine process data in the United States. Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback: see Google's data transfer page. Mediavine protects these transfers with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which are part of the data processing agreement in the Mediavine Legal & Privacy Center linked above. Our web host's servers are in the EU.
How long. Advertising cookies last for different periods depending on the partner; Mediavine's notice links to each partner's privacy policy and explains how long Mediavine itself keeps advertising data. Google Analytics cookies last up to about two years, and Google deletes the detailed Analytics data after 14 months at most; the aggregated reports are kept. Your Google Analytics choice is also kept in your browser until you change or clear it; Mediavine says consent given in its window is valid for up to six months. Server logs and emails are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above.
Your rights. You can ask for access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you can object to its use. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect anything done before. You do not have to consent to anything: every calculator works the same if you refuse analytics and advertising cookies. Use the Privacy link and the Cookie settings button at the bottom of our pages (here Cookie settings reopens Mediavine's consent window, which covers both advertising and Google Analytics), email privacy@mediavine.com about advertising data, or email us and we will pass requests about advertising data on to Mediavine. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our tools, or the third-party services we use, change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
